The Metropolitan Museum of Art has made an exciting announcement: Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams will co-chair the 2026 Met Gala alongside Vogue global editorial director Anna Wintour.
This event marks a significant moment as it will be Beyoncé’s first appearance at the gala in ten years. Her last role as an honorary chair was in 2013.
This year’s exhibit theme, titled Costume Art, promises to explore the intricate relationship between clothing and the human body. It will feature a fascinating juxtaposition of archival fashion alongside Western art that portrays the human form.
Additionally, the gala host committee will be co-chaired by Zoë Kravitz and Anthony Vaccarello, creative director of Saint Laurent, a sponsor for the 2026 exhibit. The committee will include notable figures such as musicians Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, and Teyana Taylor, along with models Alex Consani and Paloma Elsesser. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, are also confirmed sponsors.
This 2026 Met Gala will hold special significance for Wintour, as it’s her first since she stepped down as editor-in-chief of American Vogue in June. Despite this change, she continues in her roles as the global editorial director and Conde Nast’s chief content officer, overseeing the Met Gala.
