    A multitude of suits and hybrid styles were presented, some featuring a new wrap skirt that was both practical and edgy, cut just above the knee with a frayed finish. Utilizing a variety of materials—from gossamer bouclé wool to structured denim—these pieces retained the beloved four-pocket jacket design, often adorned with golden filigree or contrasting trimmings.

    Notably daring were the skirts styled to sit low on the hips, revealing glimpses of undergarments—a bold choice that may leave some affluent attendees hesitant but undeniably excited. Blazy artfully reinterpreted Chanel’s legacy with large camellia brooches and intricate pearl necklaces, alongside delicate embroidery depicting wheat—a clear nod to Coco’s personal obsessions.

    For evening wear, Blazy upped the ante further, showcasing pieces embellished with dense fabric flowers inspired by flamenco skirts, despite some concerns about their practicality. During the show, a model humorously removed a shoe in front of a star-studded audience, including Tilda Swinton and Penelope Cruz, adding a touch of spontaneity to the event.

    The music, curated by Chanel’s long-time DJ Michel Gaubert alongside Belgian sound artist Le Motel, offered a dazzling auditory backdrop to the visuals, blending electronic rhythms with familiar hits. The finale elicited a standing ovation, sparked by Awar Odhiang, who joyfully encouraged the audience to join in their applause.

    “Chanel is about love. The birth of modernity in fashion stems from a love story. This is the essence of beauty—timeless and free. This freedom was what Gabrielle Chanel fought for,” expressed Blazy. Despite staging reminiscent of outer space, the collection delivered an exhilarating breath of fresh air to Chanel’s legacy.

    Overall, the show was a monumental success, destined to leave a lasting influence and marking itself as a milestone among designer debuts this fashion week. Blazy, previously under the radar, transitioned to this prominent role at a powerhouse brand after establishing himself at Bottega Veneta.

    Alain and Gérard Wertheimer, the discreet stewards of the brand, seem eager to ensure Blazy’s sustained impact at Chanel. As only the fourth creative director in the house’s history—after Coco Chanel herself, Karl Lagerfeld, and Virginie Viard—Blazy occupies a significant position within the brand’s storied narrative.

    On the same day, Chanel introduced two new ambassadors: Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and the dynamic Ayo Edebiri, acknowledged for her remarkable performances in acclaimed series. Kidman graced the show in a Boy Capel-inspired ensemble, proving her enduring association with the brand, while Edebiri’s recent appearances in Chanel attire have solidified her status as a rising star.

    “Nicole Kidman has always been intertwined with the legacy of Chanel. She embodies the spirit of the Chanel woman—free and evolving,” remarked Blazy. Similarly, Edebiri represents both strength and vulnerability, aligning perfectly with the brand’s ethos.

    Furthermore, a stunning new billboard showcasing a luxurious Chanel necklace from its No. 5 collection has captured the attention of passersby in Paris, highlighting the brand’s ongoing allure. The magic of the Chanel dream feels revitalized and vibrantly alive.
