Multi-covers might become somewhat of a trend at American Vogue. At least that’s the way it’s looking this month. First came Michael B. Jordan as the magazine’s fifth man to pose on the American fashion bible solo, which was swiftly followed up with Mikey Madison posing horseback in Prada on the second cover. Next up on the cover of Vogue, fronting the October 2026 issue of the magazine, is Dakota Johnson. The American actress and current face of Valentino’s “Vendetta” fragrance (alongside Alexander Skarsgård) poses for the photographer Larissa Hofmann. Tonne Goodman was roped in on styling duties, who opted to dress Dakota in a butter yellow Jil Sander dress, plucked from Simone Bellotti’s Jil Sander Fall 2026 collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Three Americans, and every cover has a big Milan heading. Also, these covers have absolutely no correlation. I swear if American Vogue turns into a multi-cover mess…” noted callmejaeden.
“None of these three covers are particularly Vogue-worthy (despite Michael B. Jordan’s being the strongest). They all feel random, as if Chloe Malle simply couldn’t make a decision this month and opted to just send out all three (or more). Yeah, not impressed,” voiced vogue28.
LastNight commented: “I think Dakota looks beautiful on her cover, but it feels a little more ELLE to me. It also reminds me of Sophie Turner’s British Vogue cover from a couple of years ago, but this one is stronger.”
“Dakota’s cover looks fresh by US Vogue‘s current standards. It instantly reminds me of British Vogue covers under Alexandra Shulman circa 2010,” crmsn pointed out.
“They are all better than whatever that [Steven] Meisel mess was last month!” declared forum member ellaarchivist.
