Chanel has made waves with the appointment of A$AP Rocky as their latest brand ambassador, launching his role through an alluring teaser video set against the vibrant backdrop of New York City, featuring the enchanting Margaret Qualley alongside him.
The video premiered just two days before Chanel’s couturier Matthieu Blazy unveils his debut Métiers d’Art collection in New York. This line, a concept originally introduced by the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, celebrates the incredible artisan skills behind Chanel, showcasing techniques in embroidery, pleating, glove-making, and costume jewelry.
Directed by Michel Gondry, the captivating 2.49-minute short film kicks off with the stars waking up in a charming Williamsburg apartment. After a tender peck on A$AP’s forehead, Qualley disappears into a snug bathroom, emerging in a stunning red, white, and blue houndstooth Chanel jacket paired elegantly with pale blue pants and her hair in a chic chignon.

Almost instantly, A$AP springs from bed, racing down the steel outdoor stairs of the tenement to chase after Qualley. This adventure takes him on a journey under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, through the lively Lower East Side, and culminates in an adrenaline-pumping reunion at Astor Place station. The backdrop of moody ambient sounds courtesy of Le Motel adds an intriguing depth to the visuals.
During this chaotic chase, the rapper and husband to Rihanna captures moments to stop at discount stores, picking up trendy pants and a blazer. Just as he arrives at the station, he gets down on one knee and presents a small white Chanel box—presumably containing a diamond engagement ring. This mesmerizing scene prompts Qualley to leap into the air, filled with joy, before the couple joyfully heads back into the subway, arm in arm.
They are likely en route to the much-anticipated Métiers d’Art show, set to unveil on Tuesday at 8 p.m. NYC time.
