Simone Porte Jacquemus is set to present his upcoming show at the Picasso Museum in Paris, a remarkable venue that aligns perfectly with the artistic ethos of this innovative French designer.
Jacquemus’ next show is scheduled for January 25, strategically placed at the end of the Paris menswear season and just prior to the Paris Couture Week. This marks a notable reunion with the Picasso Museum, the birthplace of his spring 2018 “La Bomba” collection.
Choosing the Picasso Museum underscores Jacquemus’ dedication to cultivating enduring partnerships with cultural institutions. His previous showcases and events have graced the likes of Château de Versailles, Fondation Maeght, and Casa Malaparte in Capri.
Situated in the enchanting Marais district, the Picasso Museum is housed in one of the city’s most captivating mansions. This exquisite late 17th-century ‘hôtel particulier,’ once the residence of a salt-tax farmer, was originally known as the Hôtel Salé, a nod to its history. The building, designed in a classic and baroque style—reflective of Cardinal Mazarin’s influence in France—features a stunning staircase that captures the essence of its architectural splendor.
Throughout its history, this elegant mansion has served as the Embassy of the Republic of Venice and was once a school where Balzac studied. In the late 70s, it transformed into the Picasso Museum, becoming the custodian of about 5,000 masterpieces from the preeminent artist of the 20th century.
In his career, Jacquemus has consistently sought out distinctive locations for his fashion shows, showcasing his collections in settings that range from a lavender field in Provence to a vast wheat field in Normandy.
In January 2025, Jacquemus chose an intimate atmosphere, inviting only 40 guests to the austere private apartment of architect Auguste Perret. This exclusive gathering was followed by a grand display at the Palace of Versailles six months later, revealing his fluid approach to venue choice in the fashion world.
