Hero Fiennes Tiffin Unleashes Sherlock’s Secrets at Home

Hero Fiennes Tiffin embraces the opportunity to collaborate with his talented family—his filmmaker mother, Martha, and his uncle, Ralph. He emphasizes, “I never wanted it to be something that’s forced or doesn’t make sense. It really did feel right in that capacity.”

The Fiennes legacy is so significant that the Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes clan has its own Wikipedia page. When discussing the notion of being a “nepo nephew,” he states, “I don’t understand the fight. If someone said to me, ‘You’ve only achieved what you have because of them,’ I would respond, ‘Hold on, I’ve put in the effort, practiced, and tried hard.’ But when it comes to getting that initial opportunity, I fully acknowledge that without my family’s influence, it wouldn’t have been possible. They sparked my passion for acting.”

Fiennes Tiffin’s outfit features a short-sleeve top and shorts from Palace, layered with a long-sleeve top from a stylist’s collection. He completes the look with a blazer by Ami, shoes by Dries Van Noten, and socks by Pantherella.

His look also includes a jumper from Wales Bonner, shorts by Martine Rose, and socks again from Pantherella. He accessorizes with a vest by M&S, a watch by Jaeger-Le-Coutre, and a necklace by Tiffany & Co.

When introducing Hero Fiennes Tiffin, many get caught up on his unique name—particularly the first one. As a child, he speculated that it stemmed from his parents’ desire to showcase their creativity. His siblings, Mercy and Titan, further support this theory. A name like Hero sets a high expectation.

Perhaps Fiennes Tiffin was destined for greatness. His father painted his childhood bedroom’s ceiling blue and adorned it with cotton-ball clouds. Together, they assembled miniature airplanes from a model shop near his grandparents, suspending them with fishing line. (He even has a tattoo of a Spitfire across his ribcage.)

His journey into acting began with a day off school. For the 2008 comedy Bigga Than Ben, directed by a family friend, Suzie Halewood, he earned £100 for stealing chocolate bars on screen. Fiennes Tiffin splurged that cash on a personalized West Ham football kit. He later portrayed Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the younger version of his uncle Ralph’s Voldemort. From that experience, he recognized his desire to avoid the life of a child actor always cloistered on set. “When you miss a week of school and suddenly someone’s broken their wrist while another teacher’s on maternity leave,” he reflects, “it feels monumental. A week of playing wizards seems like forever. I realized I wanted to be a normal kid.”
