PARIS — Patou, the fashion house under the LVMH umbrella, has announced the departure of artistic director Guillaume Henry. The brand is now reconsidering its future direction, as stated in a release on Friday.
“This decision by both parties allows Guillaume to focus on new ventures, while the Maison contemplates a different approach for its future development,” Patou explained.
This shift arises as LVMH tightens its strategy to maneuver through the ongoing challenges within the luxury fashion market.
Guillaume Henry was chosen by LVMH’s Sidney Toledano to lead a revival of the label, renowned for its iconic fragrance “Joy.”
Henry made his debut collection for Patou in 2019, stepping into the shoes of illustrious predecessors including Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Christian Lacroix during the brand’s rich 100-year history.
The initiative to rejuvenate Patou was also championed by former CEO Sophie Brocart, who transitioned in 2024 to direct a circularity project at Chanel.
Toledano commended Henry as “a skilled architect of Patou’s renewal. Over these seven years, he has presented ambitious collections that consistently captivated both critics and clients during every show,” according to the statement.
